To make digital payments easier and smarter in India, NPCI Bhim Services Ltd has launched Bhim 3.0 with new advanced features. Now this app will not only be a medium to transfer payments, but many new features like bill splitting, adding family members to payment tracking and reminders of pending bills have been added to it.
Bill splitting and expense tracking made easy
You can now split bills with your friends and family through Bhim 3.0. Whether it is a group dinner expense or any other shared expense, Bhim 3.0 will allow you to easily track all expenses. The app also has a task assistant feature, which will remind you from time to time about pending bills.
A big highlight of Bhim 3.0 is Bhim Vega. This is an in-app payment solution that allows users to make direct payments on online merchant platforms without switching to any third-party app. This will make the payment experience faster and safer than before.
At the launch event of Bhim 3.0, RBI Executive Director Vivek Deep said that this app will prioritize customer satisfaction and ensure a better experience for the users. Along with this, Bhim 3.0 will also have to work with banks to further improve B2B payment solutions, which has been an area of less attention in digital payments so far.
Rising figures of Bhim 3.0
The Bhim app was launched in December 2016 and was one of the first apps to simplify the UPI payment system. As of February 2025, the Bhim app has processed 42 million transactions, with a total value of ₹ 8,731.10 crores.
Lalita Nataraj, CEO of NPCI Bhim Services, has expressed confidence in the app. She believes that now there will be organic growth in the market share of this app. She said that improvements in UI and UX will improve the user experience, due to which users will adopt this app themselves. Also, now it will also be promoted as a commercial app, which will increase its usage further.
