BharatPe UPI Launches Maha Kumbh Shield: UPI payment service provider company BharatPe App has launched a new security scheme called ‘Mahakumbh Shield’, which will secure UPI payments of devotees coming to Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj.
This comprehensive fraud protection plan has been specially designed for the Mahakumbh Mela. Under this scheme, users can secure their mobile payments up to Rs 25,000 for free for 30 days.
Special security plan to protect UPI transactions
‘Mahakumbh Shield’ is a special security plan designed to protect millions of devotees from phishing scams, unauthorized transactions due to device theft and other cyber threats.
How to activate ‘Mahakumbh Shield’?
Devotees coming to Maha Kumbh can download the BharatPe app and activate this security feature after completing the first UPI transaction. After this, security of up to Rs 25,000 will be available for free for the first month. After the free trial is over, users can avail this service for only Rs 19 per month.
Claim on UPI fraud will be received within 10 days
With the help of ‘BharatPe Shield’, users can get a claim within 10 days for any UPI fraud. For the convenience of users, BharatPe is providing 24×7 support service, where they can report fraud and file a claim through the app, chatbot or toll-free helpline.
Speaking on the launch of ‘Mahakumbh Shield’, Nalin Negi, CEO, BharatPe said, “Mahakumbh is the biggest spiritual event in the world. Through this scheme, we want to ensure that every devotee can make digital payments without any worry. Our aim is to make digital transactions not only easy but also completely secure, so that devotees can focus on their spiritual journey.

The UPI service of the BharatPe app was launched in August 2023 and offers various payment options for users, including:
- Scan & Pay
- Pay to Self
- Pay to Merchant
- Pay to Bank
- UPI ID Transfer
- Bank transfer
- Balance Check
- Bill Payment (Mobile, Gas, DTH, Electricity, Insurance etc.)
Also, users can buy gift vouchers at a discount through the BharatPe app. These vouchers are available from various popular brands in categories such as electronics, entertainment, fashion, food, travel, wellness, etc.
