Bank Holidays October 2022:The month of October has started. There are many important festivals in the month of October like Durga Puja, Gandhi Jayanti, Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will be closed for a total of 21 days this month. These holidays also include regular holidays such as the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of the month. In such a situation, if you have any important work related to bank this month, then you should check the list first.
Let us tell youthe rules for all the states separately that all these holidays will not be applicable in all the states. According to the list of holidays given on the official website of RBI (Bank Holidays List 2022), banking holidays also depend on the festivals celebrated in different states or the notification of special occasions in those states.

October 1 – Half Yearly Closing – Banks will remain closed in Sikkim.
October 2 – Gandhi Jayanti
October 3 – Banks will remain closed in Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Bihar and Manipur on account of Durga Puja (Maha Ashtami).
October 4 – Due to Durga Puja (Dussehra) / birth anniversary of Sankardev, there will be a holiday for bank workers in Karnataka, Orissa, Sikkim, Kerala, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Bihar and Meghalaya.
October 5 – Banks across the country will remain closed except Manipur on account of Durga Puja (Dashmi)/Shankar Dev Janmotsav.
October 6 – Banks will remain closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja.
October 7 – Banks will remain closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja.
October 13 – Banks will remain closed due to Karva Chauth.
October 14 – Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
October 18 – Banks will remain closed in Guwahati on account of Kati Bihu.
October 24 – Banks will remain closed in other cities of the country except Hyderabad, Imphal and Gangtok on account of Kali Puja/ Narak Chaturdashi/ Diwali/ Lakshmi Puja.
October 25 – Banks will remain closed in Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal and Jaipur on account of Lakshmi Puja/Diwali/Govardhan Puja.
26 October – Banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Belapur, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Shillong and Shimla due to festivals like Bhai Dooj.
October 27 – Banks will remain closed in Lucknow, Kanpur, Imphal and Gangtok on account of festivals like Bhai Dooj/Chitragupta.
28 October – Banks in Ahmedabad, Patna and Ranchi will remain closed on account of Dala Chhath/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti.
Banks will remain closed in the month of October due to weekly holidays
on 8th October and 22nd October due to 2nd and 4th Saturdays.At the same time, on 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th October, there will be a weekly holiday for bank employees due to Sunday.
