Bank Holidays in January 2025 : The new year is about to come and with it a new list of bank holidays has also been prepared. As per the instructions of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for 15 days across the country in January 2025.
These holidays will not be the same in all states. These holidays include national, local and public holidays. These holidays may vary according to the states.
List of Bank Holidays for January 2025
January 1: New Year’s Day
Banks will remain closed on the occasion of New Year in many states of the country.
January 2: New Year and Mannam Jayanti
Banks will remain closed on account of New Year in Mizoram and Mannam Jayanti in Kerala.
January 5: Sunday
Weekly holiday in all banks.
January 6: Birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh
Banks will remain closed on the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh in Haryana and Punjab.
January 11: Second Saturday
Banks across the country will remain closed as it is the second Saturday of the month.
January 12: Sunday and Swami Vivekananda Jayanti
All banks will remain closed on Sunday. This day is also Swami Vivekananda Jayanti.
January 14: Makar Sankranti and Pongal
Banks will remain closed in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu on account of Makar Sankranti and Pongal.
January 15: Thiruvalluvar Day, Magh Bihu and Makar Sankranti
These local festivals will be celebrated in Tamil Nadu, Assam and other states.
16 January: Ujjavar Tirunal
Banks will remain closed in Tamil Nadu on the occasion of Ujjavar Tirunal.
January 19: Sunday
Weekly holiday in all banks.
January 22: Imoin
Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Imoin festival in Manipur.
23 January: Birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
Banks will remain closed in Manipur, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi on account of Netaji’s birth anniversary.
January 25: Fourth Saturday
All banks will remain closed as it is the fourth Saturday of the month.
26 January: Republic Day
All banks will remain closed across the country on the occasion of Republic Day.
January 30: Sonam Losar
Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Sonam Losar in Sikkim.
