Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is celebrated every year on 19 February across Maharashtra. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the great Maratha warrior and efficient administrator Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who left an indelible mark in history with his valor, strategy and just rule. On this occasion, processions, tableaux, cultural programs and speech competitions are organized in Maharashtra.
People pay tribute to Shivaji Maharaj by garlanding his statues. This day is not only an opportunity to remember his bravery. Customers are advised to settle bank related work in advance. However, net banking and digital services will continue. Due to the closure of banks, people will have to settle their work earlier or later.
List of Bank Holidays in February 2025 – State Wise
Banks remain closed on all national and local festivals, anniversaries, Sundays, second Saturdays and fourth Saturdays of every month. All bank branches remain open on first, third and fifth Saturdays. Banks will remain closed for 14 days in the month of February.

Wednesday, February 19: Banks will be closed in Belapur, Mumbai, and Nagpur on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
Thursday, February 20: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl and Itanagar on the occasion of State Day.
Wednesday, February 26: Banks will be closed on the occasion of Mahashivratri in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.
Bank weekend holidays (Saturday and Sunday)
Sunday, February 16: Weekly holiday.
Saturday-Sunday, 22nd and 23rd February : Fourth Saturday and weekly holiday.
