Bank Holiday : Today, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, all public and private sector banks in Kolkata and Tripura will remain closed. On this day, Lakshmi Puja will be organized in Kolkata, which is celebrated as a special festival in Bengal.
This festival is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, who is considered the goddess of wealth, prosperity and good fortune. On this festival, which comes a few days after Durga Puja, people decorate their homes and business places and worship Goddess Lakshmi.
Banks will remain closed only in these states
According to RBI, except Tripura and Kolkata, banks will remain open in all other states and will function as usual. Online banking services will be available so that customers do not face any problem due to bank closure.
