Bank Holiday: Today, on October 14, banks are going to be closed in all states due to Dussehra and second Saturday. The festival of Dussehra has religious and cultural significance, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the country.
Along with this, banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month in India. Today, due to two reasons, banks are going to be closed in all the states of the country. However, digital banking services, such as internet banking, mobile banking, and ATM services will be available as usual. If you have any important work related to the bank, then you can finish it on this Monday or Tuesday.
This is the list of bank holidays according to states
October 12: Banks will remain closed across all states on the occasion of Dussehra (Mahanavami/Vijayadashami) and second Saturday of the month.
October 13: All banks will remain closed on Sunday.
October 14: Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Durga Puja (Dussain).
Besides, banks will remain closed in Tripura and Bengal on October 16 on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja, while on October 17 banks will remain closed in Karnataka, Assam and Himachal Pradesh on account of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu.
Banks will remain closed in many states on October 31 on the occasion of Diwali/Kali Puja/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, while banks will remain open in Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur and Meghalaya.
