Why will banks remain closed on April 16?

Banks will remain closed in Assam on Wednesday, April 16 due to Bohag Bihu. Banks will remain open in all other states. This festival is the biggest and traditional New Year festival of Assam, which is celebrated with great pomp throughout the state. For this reason, this day is an official holiday in Assam and all banking services will not be available on that day. Therefore, if there is any important work related to the bank, it would be better to finish it in advance.

Digital banking service will continue

Despite the bank branches being closed, net banking, mobile banking, UPI and ATM services will continue. Customers can send money online, pay bills and do other digital banking work.

When will the banks remain closed in April 2025?

April 15 (Tuesday ) – Banks will remain closed in Assam, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh on account of Bengali New Year, Himachal Day and Bohag Bihu.

April 16 (Wednesday ) – Banks will remain closed in Assam due to Bohag Bihu.

April 18 (Friday) – Banks will be closed in Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar on account of Good Friday.

April 21 (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Tripura. Garia Puja, a tribal festival, will be celebrated on this day.

April 29 (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh as Lord Parshuram Jayanti will be celebrated on this day.

April 30 (Wednesday) – Banks will remain closed in Karnataka as Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on this day.
