There is big news for the customers of the public sector Punjab National Bank. If you also have an account in this bank, then be alert, otherwise your account will be closed soon. If you have not done one thing yet, then your account will be closed permanently, the bank has given you a final deadline to do this work. The bank has given instructions that if the work is not completed by January 23, 2025, the account will be closed permanently.

    Last date
According to the information given by Punjab National Bank, as per the RBI guidelines, it is mandatory for all customers to update their KYC. The bank has given a deadline of January 23, 2025 to the customers to update their Know Your Customer (KYC) details. So that their account remains open, the accounts of those who do not do KYC will be closed. This extension will be the last for those who have not completed their KYC update by September 30, 2024.

What information should be provided while doing KYC?
PNB has asked customers to submit their updated information such as identity proof, address proof, recent photograph, PAN/Form 60, income proof, mobile number (if not available) or any other KYC information to any branch. This can be done through PNB One/Internet Banking Services (IBS) or through registered email/post to your home branch by January 23.

Otherwise you will not be able to use the account. The bank has said that if the KYC details are not updated within the stipulated time, there may be restrictions on the operation of the account. For any assistance, customers can visit their nearest Punjab National Bank branch or visit the official website https://www.pnbindia.in .

    What is KYC?
KYC is used by any bank or company to verify the identity of the customer. Even after opening an account, KYC update messages keep coming from the bank or company from time to time. As per the rules of Reserve Bank of India, customers are required to do KYC from time to time.
