Now the name of this scheme has been changed to Pradhan Mantri Jan-Arogya Yojana (PMJAY). Under this scheme, the central government provides health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh to eligible families. Ayushman Golden Card is issued to the family. By showing this card, free treatment can be provided in the listed hospitals. Ayushman Golden Card is valid in more than 13,000 government and private hospitals across the country. Ayushman Golden Card can be made both online and offline.

About 1500 diseases can be treated with Ayushman Golden Card, including serious diseases like cancer and heart disease. All chronic and new diseases are covered under this scheme. This scheme is paperless and cashless.

That is, the Ayushman card holder will have to give the bus card in the bus hospital. Neither he has to give any documents nor money. Hospitals cannot charge extra money from the beneficiaries for treatment. Beneficiaries of this scheme can get their treatment done anywhere in India.

Who can make Ayushman Golden Card?

All the families listed in the Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) database are covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. In this scheme, such families have been included in various categories in rural areas who have houses with kutcha wall and kutcha roof. Households with no adult member between the age of 16 to 59 years.

The family which has a disabled member and there is no physically able adult member in that family, that family can also make Ayushman Golden Card. Apart from this, Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe families and landless families earning a major part of their income from wages are also eligible to get Ayushman card.

In Haryana, those with an income of 3 lakhs can also get the card,

apart from the above eligible persons in Haryana, now the Haryana government is also giving such families an opportunity to get Ayushman Golden Card, whose annual income is less than Rs. 3 lakhs. However, to avail the benefits of Ayushman Yojana, such people will have to spend Rs 1500 annually.

In Haryana, the families whose annual income is Rs 1.80 lakh are being given free Ayushman Yojana cards to them. The government considers only the income recorded in the applicable family identity card in Haryana as the income of the family. If the annual income of a family in the family identity card is more than Rs 1.80 lakh, then it will not get the Ayushman card for free. He will have to get the card made by paying 1500 premium.
