Ayushman Bharat Yojna: Now children up to 5 years of age will also get free treatment under Ayushman

Azamgarh: Under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Yojana, crores of people across the country are taking advantage of it and getting free treatment. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is no less than a boon for the poor and destitute.

Under this scheme, free treatment is provided for more than 2000 diseases, which is valid at government as well as identified private hospitals. Hospital expenses up to ₹ 5 lakh can be easily paid with the help of Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Card, hence it is very important for the poor.

Earlier only parents used to get the benefit

Currently, only children above 5 years of age and parents used to get the benefit of this scheme, but now new facilities will be made available to people in Ayushman card. Under this, now children up to 5 years of age will also be able to avail the benefits of Ayushman Yojana. Children up to 5 years of age can also be treated for free on the Ayushman card of their parents. Till now only parents used to get the benefit of this scheme, but one had to face problems for the treatment of children up to 5 years of age.

New arrangements have started in the district under Ayushman. Earlier, only those who had Ayushman card used to get free treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh, but now on the instructions of the government, children up to 5 years of age on the parents’ card will also get free treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh in selected hospitals. Apart from this, under this scheme, Ayushman’s golden card holders along with parents and more than 6 people will get free treatment up to ₹ 5 lakh.

More than 74 thousand people of the district got the benefit.

Despite the name not being in the list, children will be treated on the card of their relatives on the patient registration page with the help of DMS software. During the treatment of children, it is mandatory to have the name of the parents and their relation with the beneficiary, children’s photo, birth certificate and name in the ration card. District coordinator of Ayushman Yojana, Ajay Pratap told that till now 74 thousand 47 people have been treated and operated under this scheme in Azamgarh. For which 80 crore 30 lakh rupees have been spent. He also told that soon the elderly will also get benefit from this scheme.
