Auto and Taxi Fare Hike in Delhi: Auto and taxi rides will become expensive in Delhi. The Delhi government has decided to increase the minimum fare of autos. As per the new order, the minimum fare for auto-rickshaws will be increased by Rs 5 per kg and the charges for AC and non-AC taxis have been increased by Rs 4 per km and Rs 3 per km respectively.
The minimum fare for auto will be Rs 30
The meter down charge (minimum fare) for auto-rickshaws for the initial 1.5 km has been increased from Rs 25 to Rs 30. Whereas after meter down the charge per kilometer has been increased from Rs 9.50 to Rs 11. For taxis, the per km charge after meter down has been increased from Rs 14 to Rs 17 per km for non-AC vehicles and Rs 16 to Rs 20 per km for AC vehicles.

Auto fares were revised in 2020
The base fare for auto-rickshaws was last revised in 2020, while for taxis that include black and yellow taxis, economy taxis and premium taxis, their fares were revised nine years ago in 2013. Now after the increase in the price of petrol, diesel and CNG, auto and taxi drivers were continuously demanding to increase the fare.
