In fact, many State Bank of India customers had received the message of deduction of Rs 147.50 on their mobiles. It is possible that you have also received this message, so let us tell you the reason for this.
Because of this SBI is deducting money from customers’ account
If you are a customer of State Bank of India and Rs 147.50 has been deducted from your account without any transaction i.e. auto debited, then there is nothing to worry about. Actually, the bank deducts service charge for the annual maintenance of ATM and debit cards used by its customers. For this reason, SBI has deducted Rs 147 from the accounts of those customers who use its ATM and debit cards.
SBI charges this much for ATM and debit cards
SBI charges its customers a charge of Rs 125 for annual maintenance of ATM and debit cards, along with which customers also have to pay 18% GST. If we calculate Rs 125 at 18% GST rate, then this amount comes to Rs 147.50. Similarly, SBI charges Rs 300 plus GST of 18 per cent for replacement of ATM or debit cards.
Credit card fees have also changed
SBI Cards & Payment Services Limited has also revised the charges levied for various credit card related transactions. SBI Card has informed on its website that from 15 November 2022, a processing fee of Rs 99 + applicable taxes will be levied on all fare payment transactions.
