New Delhi. Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is soon going to gift another metro line to Gurugram. Under this project, a 15.2 km long viaduct and 14 elevated stations will be constructed from Huda City Center to Sector 9.
The estimated cost of this phase is Rs 1,286 crore. Last week, GMRL issued a tender for this project. The tender bids will be opened on April 22 and the work order will be issued to the successful bidder immediately after that.
It is worth noting that this project was approved by the state government in August 2020, the total cost of which has been estimated at Rs 6,821.13 crore. If the construction work is completed on time, the first phase of the new metro line will be ready by June 2027. Currently, two metro lines are operating in Gurugram – a 7 km section of Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line and a 12.85 km Rapid Metro Corridor.
Stations will be built here
This new metro line will start from HUDA City Centre and includes Sector 45, Sector 46 (Cyber ​​Park), Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 33, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar 6, Sector 10, Sector 37, Basai and Sector 9 as stations. As per the tender conditions, the selected contractor will be given the responsibility of conducting a detailed survey of the viaduct alignment, track support and construction of stations. Along with this, a modern control room will also be set up for the project which will improve communication between offices and work sites.

Under this project, a depot interchange will be built with the Yellow Line of Delhi Metro at HUDA City Center, which will ensure direct connectivity between important parts of Gurugram and Delhi.
