Reliance Industries Limited’s Jamnagar refinery has completed 25 years. On this special occasion, Reliance Industries Limited Director Isha Ambani Piramal addressed the refinery employees.
Reliance Industries Limited Director Akash Ambani on Thursday expressed his commitment to develop AI infrastructure in Jamnagar. Jamnagar is considered the jewel of the Reliance family. He said that this work will be done in a short period of 24 months as per the true spirit of Jamnagar.
Along with Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani, Akash Ambani committed to working together for the growth of Reliance. He was addressing an event to mark the 25th anniversary of Jamnagar Refinery. “The AI infrastructure that we have started working on in Jamnagar will not only make Jamnagar a leader in AI infrastructure but will also place it among the top ranks in the world.”
“We have started its construction work in Jamnagar and we want to complete it in record time in Jamnagar style, as we have always done in Jamnagar, in 24 months.” He said, “Isha, Anant and I, we promise you that we will take Reliance forward and ensure that Jamnagar always remains the jewel of our Reliance family. This is our commitment to the entire Reliance family, including our parents.”
Akash Ambani said that Reliance is committed to making Jamnagar a global leader in the new information and technology era. Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery, the group’s first refinery, turned 25 last week. 25 years ago, on December 28, 1999, Reliance started its first refinery in Jamnagar.
Jamnagar has become the refining hub of the world – an engineering marvel that is the pride of India. At that time, many experts had said that it would be impossible for an Indian company to set up the world’s largest refinery in three years. But Reliance achieved this goal in a record time of just 33 months, despite the lack of infrastructure and the terrible cyclone that hit Jamnagar.
Leading global project consultants advised Dhirubhai Ambani not to invest in an area like a desert, where there are no roads, electricity or even drinking water. They warned that such forests would require extraordinary efforts to mobilize manpower, materials, technical experts and every other input.
Ignoring all the critics, Dhirubhai set out to fulfill his dream. He wanted to build not just an industrial plant but also a Nandanavan. Between 1996 and 1999, he and his highly motivated team built an engineering marvel in Jamnagar. Today, the Jamnagar refinery complex has some of the world’s largest units, such as Fluidized Catalytic Cracker (FCC), Coker, Alkylation, Paraxylene, Polypropylene, Refinery Off-Gas Cracker (ROGC), and Petcoke Gasification Plant.
