Passengers usually have to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure for international flights and about 1 hour before departure for domestic flights.

But now, a new document-free boarding system is going to be implemented at Abu Dhabi Airport, which will reduce this time. In this system, passengers will be identified using biometric authentication and artificial intelligence.

In this new system, passengers will undergo facial recognition at three separate locations at the airline counter during registration, check-in, and boarding. The cameras will recognize passengers’ faces and match them with their biometric records. The facility is expected to be operational by 2025 at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport. Before this, the trial of this system has been done at many other airports in the world.
