Air India: Air India has announced non-stop flights between Mumbai and Melbourne from December 15. During the announcement today,
the official said that it will launch the first non-stop services from Mumbai to Melbourne, Australia, expanding its global route network. Air India will fly between Mumbai and Melbourne three times a week from December 15, 2023. After this, Air India will become the only non-stop operator between Mumbai and Australia.
Flight started due to increasing demand for flights
About 40,000 seats will be added every year on the Mumbai-Melbourne route, where the Indian community is estimated to be more than 200,000, which is about 40% of the total Indian diaspora in Australia. The new services are aimed at meeting the growing demand for visiting friends and relatives, as well as business and leisure travel in the region.

People will no longer face problems
Nipun Agarwal, Chief Commercial and Transformation Officer, Air India, said, “We are extremely pleased to launch the only non-stop flight between Mumbai and Melbourne. Starting flights on this new route will boost tourism. With this, job opportunities will increase. With this, many opportunities for business and profit will increase.
People can travel from 17 cities
Through this new flight, people from 17 cities will be able to reach their destination easily. There will be no need to change flights. The flights on the Mumbai-Melbourne route will be operated by Air India’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, which will have 18 flat beds in business class and 238 spacious seats in economy.
