The first train for the Agra Metro project arrived at the city’s depot on Monday. During this, a glimpse of the coach of Agra Metro was seen. Sushil Kumar, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, unloaded the coaches at the commissionerate depot. This train has been built in Sanwali, Gujarat under the Make in India program.

Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) wrote on Twitter, the dream of the people of Agra to travel in the metro will be fulfilled soon. The first train of #AgraMetro has reached Tajnagari. According to Metro officials, Metro operations on the Priority Corridor will start in February next year.

Initially equipped with modern technology, there will be a total of 28 trains for Agra Metro and 6 trains for Priority Corridor, each with three coaches. The metro train for the Agra Metro project is yellow in color and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and seamless design.

Metro running time is fixed every five minutes at all stations. Trains are also fitted with carbon dioxide based sensors which save energy. With the increasing load of passenger trains, Co2 based sensors provide ambient temperature. All metro trains are equipped with regenerative braking system and this will save energy up to 35 percent.

974 passengers will be able to travel at a time in metro trains of Agra. Along with this, the speed of trains will be up to 80-90 km per hour. Agra Metro trains have been designed with modern fire and crash safety. Each metro train will have 24 CCTV cameras. Each train will also have 56 USB charging points and 36 LCD panels. The facility of talk back button has also been provided in metro trains, so that passengers can talk to the train operator in case of emergency.

To make the metro infrastructure look better and beautiful, metro trains will get energy from the third rail, so that there is no need for setup of poles and wires. Carbon-dioxide sensor based air conditioning system has also been provided in the trains, which will run according to the number of passengers present in the train and save energy.
