Aadhar Pan card link: The Income Tax department has issued important guidelines for NRIs or foreign nationals whose PAN card has become inactive due to not linking it with Aadhaar card. These people will have to submit proof of residence in India before the Assessing Officer to activate the PAN card, some NRIs have expressed concern over the PAN card becoming inactive.
Income Tax Department Says
The Income Tax Department has tweeted in this regard. Accordingly, if an NRI has filed an ITR in the last three assessment years or it is mandatory to provide proof of residence in India to the concerned Assessing Officer. People who do not submit these proofs, their PAN card will be deactivated.
