Free Update in Aadhar Card: Now only 20 days are left for the opportunity to update Aadhar card for free. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the date for free update in Aadhar card to 14 September 2024.
Earlier this deadline was 14 June 2024, which has now been extended by three months. This facility is available only online, that is, if you go to the Aadhar center and get it updated, then you will have to pay a charge for it.
What information can be updated in Aadhaar for free?
You can update many important information in your Aadhaar card like address, date of birth, mobile number etc. for free. For this, you have to go to myAadhaar Portal. However, to update some information like iris or biometric data, you will have to go to the Aadhaar center.
How to update Aadhaar online?
- If you want to update your Aadhaar card online for free, then follow the following steps:
- First of all go to the official website of UIDAI.
- Select the option of Aadhaar update.
- If you need to update the address, click on the Update Address option.
- Enter registered mobile number and do verification through OTP.
- Select the option of Documents Update.
- Verify all the details related to your Aadhaar.
- Upload the required documents for address update.

Accept the Aadhaar update process.
You will get a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN), through which you can track the status of your Aadhaar update.
