However, sometimes the need to change the photo visible on the Aadhar card may be felt. Your reason for changing the photo on Aadhaar card can be any but it is very easy to do so. Let us know what is the method to change photo on Aadhar card.

There are many reasons why you may feel the need to update your photo, whether the photo quality on your Aadhaar card is poor or your photo is several years old. Apart from this, Aadhar card issuing agency UIDAI has also made it clear that it is necessary to update Aadhar card at least once in 10 years. Your photo contains biometric information instead of demographic information, so you can get a new photo clicked only by visiting the nearest Aadhaar Seva Centre.

So much work will have to be done online

  • First of all you have to go to UIDAI website and download the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction or Update Form. You can also take this form by going to the nearest centre.
  • If you want to download the form online, first of all you will have to go to Aadhaar or UIDAI website and select your language.
  • After this, after going to My Aadhaar, you will have to scroll till Downloads.
  • Here the form will be downloaded as soon as you click on ‘Enrolment and Update form for Adult Residents’.
  • You will have to take a printout of this form, enter your information on it and select the photo update option.

After filling the form, you will have to take it to the nearest Aadhaar Seva Centre, where apart from clicking the photo, information like your iris scan and fingerprints will also be updated. In return you will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 and will be given Update Request Number (URN) in return. Updated Aadhaar card with new photo can be downloaded with this number or Aadhaar number.
