The Unique Identification Authority of India has launched a new feature on its website and mobile app. With the help of this, people will be able to easily verify the mobile phone and e-mail ID linked to Aadhaar.
In some cases, it was seen that people did not even know which mobile number was linked to their Aadhaar. Keeping this in mind, this step has been taken. UIDAI said in a statement, “This used to worry people that if Aadhaar OTP goes to some other mobile number, they will not know. Now with this facility, people can easily find out which mobile or e-mail ID is linked to their Aadhaar.”
According to the statement, the ’email/mobile number’ verification feature through the official website or m-Aadhaar app This facility can be availed under That is, you can verify your mobile number or email ID by visiting the M-Aadhaar app. Verification will ensure that the number on which you are sending the OTP is yours and not that of any other person.
Aadhaar update: no need to go to the center
According to the statement, this facility can be availed through the official website or m-Aadhaar app under the ’email/mobile number’ verification feature. This facility notifies people even if a mobile number is not linked and informs them about updating the mobile number. Residents will see a message on the screen if the mobile number is already verified.
In that message it will be written that the mobile number entered by you is already verified from our records. If anyone does not remember his mobile number which he had given at the time of taking Aadhaar number, then in that case he can check the last three digits of the mobile under the new facility on ‘My Aadhaar’ portal or mAadhaar app.
Will work even if the mobile number is not connected
This facility notifies the people even if a mobile number is not linked and informs them about registering the mobile number. According to the statement, “If the mobile number is already verified then people will see a message on the screen. It will be written in that message that the mobile number entered by you is already verified from our records.
If one does not remember the number
If one does not remember the mobile number which he/she had given while obtaining the Aadhaar number, then in that case he/she can enter the last three digits of the mobile number on the ‘My Aadhaar’ portal or on the mAadhaar App for the new facility. According to UIDAI, one will need to visit the nearest Aadhaar center to link the email and mobile number with Aadhaar.
