AADHAAR: New update regarding Aadhaar biometric update, Aadhar of these people may be cancelled

Aadhar card has become a mandatory identity document in India, which is used for banking, government schemes, passport, driving license and other services. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has recommended updating Aadhar cards that are 10 years or older, so that the information of citizens remains accurate and secure.

Aadhaar update campaign in Jammu and Kashmir

UIDAI has started Aadhaar update campaign in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir administration, under which Aadhaar centers have been created in all the districts.

  • Aadhaar cards for newborn babies – Now, Aadhaar cards for newborn babies will be made in hospitals itself on the basis of verified birth certificates.
  • Biometric and Demographic Update – Citizens are being advised to update their name, age, mobile number and biometric details from time to time.
  • More than 1000 Aadhaar Centres – More Aadhaar Seva Centres have been created across the country for the convenience of citizens.

Aadhaar update rules

  • It is necessary to update Aadhaar every 10 years.
  • Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) for Children – Biometrics (fingerprint, iris scan and photo) in Aadhaar must be updated for children at the age of 5 and 15 years.
  • If not updated on time, the card may be cancelled.

How to update Aadhaar?

  3. Update your details and upload the required documents .

Offline Update:

  • Visit the nearest Aadhaar service center and apply with the required documents .
  • It will be updated after biometric verification.

The aim of this initiative of UIDAI is to ensure that the information of citizens remains up-to-date and there is uninterrupted access to government services. Those whose Aadhaar card is older than 10 years should get it updated as soon as possible.
