Aadhaar Authentication: Aadhaar card is one of the major identity cards of the citizens of the country. Aadhaar card is required as an important document for various purposes ranging from bank accounts. Many important things are linked to our Aadhaar number.

This time the central government has made major changes in some rules related to Aadhaar.

From now on, all private institutions will also be able to do Aadhaar authentication to provide their services. The Ministry of Information Technology announced this by issuing a notification last Friday. The central government has said that this initiative has been taken to make the lives of the people of the country easier (Aadhaar Authentication) and give them better access to various services. Additionally, the government has specifically mentioned that Aadhaar authentication will further increase the decision-making power of many organizations. This method will increase transparency and inclusion in the decision-making process.

Expansion of Aadhaar Authentication Services

This initiative has been taken under the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Amendment Act, 2025, where Aadhaar for social welfare, innovation, knowledge etc. was introduced in the Act 2016. The country’s Central Information Technology Department made this announcement through an e-gazette notification on X handle.

As a result of this decision, from now on government and private organizations will be able to use Aadhaar authentication to verify all customer and client information. This will make identity verification more easy and systematic in various sectors. A press release on this matter says, ‘Both the service provider and the service seeker, i.e. the service provider and the customer, will benefit from trusted transactions.’

To use this Aadhaar authentication service, private and government organizations have to apply to specific central and state offices with detailed requirements. The Unique Identification Authority of India will verify all these applications. And through this verification, the central or state department will give the final approval.

If there is any mistake in the demographic information of your Aadhaar card, then you can update it for free. UIDAI is providing this opportunity again. Earlier, the deadline for this free update was December 14, but it has been extended again to June 14, 2025.
