The government has said that if the PAN card of income tax payers is not linked to Aadhaar, then they will not be able to file ITR. The last date for this has passed and till March 31, 2023, people can link them with a fine.
A fine of Rs 1000 will have to be paid for linking PAN and Aadhaar. If PAN is not linked with Aadhaar card, not only will ITR filling stop, but you will also not be able to take advantage of other PAN card related facilities. That’s why the government has instructed that the citizens should get this work done as soon as possible.
Although most of the people have completed this work, but many people do not know whether their Aadhaar-PAN has been linked or not. This can also be detected very easily. For this you have to go to the website of the Income Tax Department. After this you click on ‘Link Aadhaar Status’. A new window will open in front of you. In this you have to click on ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’. A message will appear in front of you. From this you will know whether your Aadhaar and PAN are linked or not.
