New Delhi : Indian passport is issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to the citizens of the country for the purpose of international travel. It is also taken as an important identity proof document which can also be used for many important purposes. An Indian passport once created is valid for a period of 10 years from the date of issue, after which it has to be updated.

Passport like any other document has validity and needs to be renewed before its expiry date. Those who wish to renew their passport can do so by applying online or through the nearest Indian Passport Office.

Photos are changed for many reasons

There can be many reasons for changing the photograph in the passport. For example, like baby to child or child to adult, turban to non-turban, beard to non-beard and other photo changes. To change your photograph in the passport, you need to apply for ‘re-issue’ of the passport.

You can change your photo with these steps one by one

-Get Form 2 from Passport Seva Kendra Office portalindia.gov.in. Candidates can also download it online
-If you are filling the online form, then
click on ‘Reissue of Passport’ from Administration section area -Now click on
‘Change in Existing Personal’ and select relevant option
-Now, Nearest and Schedule an appointment at a nearby passport office. Submit the form and pay/fee along with the required documents
-Another required document is a letter from the specialist which has been marked by the candidate
-Soon, you will receive your new passport with required changes
