7th Pay Commission: After increasing the dearness allowance by 4 percent before Navratri, the central government is preparing to give another gift to the central employees. According to the information, the Central Government is also contemplating to increase the House Rent Allowance soon after Dearness Allowance. If HRA is increased, then there can be a big hike in the salary of government employees.
This is how HRA is fixed
Let us tell you that the cities whose population is more than 50 lakhs come under the ‘X’ category. At the same time, those whose population is more than 5 lakhs come under ‘Y’ category and cities with population less than 5 lakhs come under ‘Z’ category. HRA for government employees is determined by the category of the city in which they work.
HRA has three categories
These are the three categories X, Y and Z. Class X employees are getting HRA at the rate of 27% of their basic salary. The Y category gets HRA at the rate of 18 to 20 percent. Whereas, the Z category gets HRA at the rate of 9 to 10 per cent. This rate varies by area and city. The minimum HRA for all the three categories is Rs 5400, 3600 and Rs 1800.
HRA can increase this much
According to reports, HRA of government employees may soon increase to 3 percent. Employees in X category cities may see a 3 per cent hike in their HRA, while those in Y category cities may see a 2 per cent hike in their allowances. Apart from this, the HRA of employees in Z category cities can also increase by 1 percent.
Now getting HRA at this rate
At present, central employees are getting HRA at the rate of 27, 18 and 9 per cent. In July last year, HRA was revised when DA crossed 25 per cent and when DA was increased to 28 per cent in July 2021 and then HRA was revised even if DA crossed 25 per cent. Now the DA of central employees has increased from 31 percent to 34 percent, so it is expected that soon the HRA can also be increased by 3 percent.
Modi government increased DA
Let us tell you that on September 28, the Central Government had announced an increase of 4 percent in the dearness allowance of central employees. Due to this dearness allowance has increased from 34 to 38 percent. Is. 50 lakh employees and about 62 lakh pensioners have benefited from this decision of the central government.
