GOVT Employees Retirement Age Increased: The Uttarakhand government has increased the retirement age of specialist doctors from 60 years to 65 years. State Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said here on Friday that orders have been issued regarding the increase in the retirement age by five years.
He said that by increasing the age limit, 550 specialist doctors of the state will benefit from it. Kumar said that this decision of the government will overcome the shortage of specialist doctors in the state and their services will be available even in remote villages. Kumar said that the state government is committed to providing better health services to the public and health services are being improved rapidly in the state.
He said that under this, the government has decided to give five years’ service extension to specialist doctors. The secretary said that after completing the age of 60 years, no specialist doctor will be given administrative and financial responsibilities and they will be deployed as chief consultants on the available vacant posts of their discipline.
He said that such medical officers will not be given further promotion, while the doctor will get salary increment and other service benefits during service and on retirement as per rules like government employees.
