SN Subrahmanyan has announced that now the female employees of the company will get one day off during menstruation. Let us tell you that Larsen & Toubro has a total of 60,000 employees, out of which about 9% are women. With this decision, this company has become the first company to provide such a facility in its sector.

Let us tell you that earlier this year, Larsen & Toubro Chairman SN Subrahmanyan had advised his employees to work for 90 hours. During a conversation with his employees in January, Subrahmanyan advised them to work for 90 hours a week and raised questions on employees spending time at home.
He advised the employees to give priority to work and said, ‘I am sorry that I am not able to get you to work on Sunday. If I can get you to work on Sunday, I will be happier because I work on Sunday.’ He further said, “What do you do sitting at home? How long can you see your wife? Come on, go to the office and start working.”
At the same time, Larsen & Toubro Chairman SN Subrahmanyan had to face a lot of criticism for his statement about working for 90 hours and staring at his wife. After which SN Subrahmanyan’s company issued a statement and clarified this matter. Now the company has come into the discussion due to one of its decisions.
There has been a demand for menstruation leave
From August 2024, Odisha has become the first state where women employees of both government and private sectors are getting one day leave for menstruation. At the same time, the Karnataka government is considering giving six days of menstruation leave to women in a year. A draft has been prepared for this. Its purpose is to improve the work and life balance of women by reducing their problems related to menstruation. Many companies in India also give menstruation leave to their women employees. In which, Zomato’s name is also included. Zomato gives 10 days of menstruation leave every year.
