IMD Alert: Due to western disturbance, heavy rains are occurring in the hilly areas of the country including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Rain and snowfall have been observed in Jammu region and Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh today.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is becoming active, due to which there may be snowfall in the hilly areas on March 4.

Weather pattern in North India

Due to unseasonal rains in North India, a slight cold is being felt in the morning and evening. Many parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and Assam are also receiving rain, due to which cold is being experienced. At the same time, rain and snowfall continues in the western Himalayan region. On February 26, due to western disturbance, there was heavy rain and snowfall in the hilly areas.

The heat may increase in March

There was a sudden rise in temperature in February, due to which the days became hot and people had to face the scorching sun. The Meteorological Department has also predicted more heat for March, due to which citizens may face difficulties. However, the recent change in weather in the hilly areas has also reduced the temperature in the plains.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for several states on March 3. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh today, while hailstorms may occur in Punjab. An orange alert has been issued for Jammu, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, while there is a yellow alert for rain in Uttarakhand. Rain warnings have also been issued in northeastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland.

The maximum temperature in Delhi today is expected to be around 30 degrees. The minimum temperature can be between 13 degrees and the maximum temperature can be between 29 degrees Celsius. Also, light fog can also be seen.
