Now, admissions will be done in a new way in Delhi schools under categories related to EWS, DG and CWSN. The Directorate of Education of Delhi Government has issued a circular in this regard. A warning has been issued to take action against schools that do not follow the new method.
The Delhi government has directed all school heads to ensure that admissions for students under categories belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG) and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) are done through a completely computerised draw.
In a circular issued on February 27, the Directorate of Education said that the admission process for EWS, DG and CWSN categories in private unaided recognized schools in entry level classes (nursery, KG and class 1) should be conducted through computerized draw. It said that the admission process should be completely computerized. There should be no scope for any kind of human intervention at any level.
The circular also warns individuals or institutions making false claims of influencing or guaranteeing admission under the respective categories. It states that the general public is informed that such claims are misleading. People are advised to avoid associating with such illegal entities.
The Directorate of Education said that any information or complaint regarding such activities should be made on the official email of the department for appropriate legal action. All private non-aided recognized schools have been instructed to stay away from having any official or unofficial relationship with such persons, organizations or institutions. It has been said that if any school is found involved in such activities, the Directorate of Education will take strict action against it.
