There will be no impact on Fastag customers

NHAI has clarified that the purpose of the new circular is to resolve the dispute between banks regarding the Fastag status when the vehicle passes through the toll plaza. The new circular also ensures that Fastag transactions are done on time, so that people do not face any problems. NPCI says that the new Fastag rules will improve real-time payment.

Earlier it was claimed that 70 minutes will be given.

Earlier it was reported that if the FASTag is blacklisted on reaching a toll, then the user will have to pay double the toll. But if the user recharges his FASTag within 10 minutes of the FASTag being scanned, then the fine will be waived. After getting a low-balance alert, the user will be given a grace period of 70 minutes to recharge his FASTag, so that he can avoid the fine before reaching the toll booth.

Advice to customers for auto payment

NHAI has advised people to set auto recharge by linking UPI and bank account to Fastag wallet, so that people do not have to recharge manually again and again. If customers want, they can recharge Fastag in many ways. This includes UPI and netbanking payment system.
