Delhi Cabinet Decisions: The first meeting of the BJP government in Delhi was held at the Secretariat on Thursday evening. All the ministers attended the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Know in detail below what major decisions were taken in the first cabinet meeting.

  • Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said that fulfilling the Prime Minister’s dream, her government will raise its voice against corruption in Delhi. Every penny of the public will be accounted for. She said that a strategy has been made to clean the Yamuna in Delhi in the next three years.
  • Public Works Minister Parvesh Verma said that cleaning the Yamuna river is the most important priority of the Delhi government and it is a big commitment of his government. He said, ‘Our biggest commitment is cleaning the Yamuna. This is our responsibility and we will fulfill it. We will clean the Yamuna completely and leave no stone unturned in this.’

First Cabinet meeting after Yamuna Aarti

After taking oath as the Chief Minister on Thursday, the first day of her tenure, Rekha Gupta and all her cabinet colleagues reached Vasudev Ghat on the banks of Yamuna in Delhi and performed Yamuna Aarti. After this, the first cabinet meeting of the Delhi government began. It was attended by Ministers Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra, Ravinder Inderraj and Pankaj Kumar Singh, who took oath as ministers along with Rekha Gupta today.

Delhi Pradesh BJP President Virendra Sachdeva was also present at Yamuna Ghat here. Yamuna Aarti was performed while chanting mantras. The Chief Minister offered prayers with folded hands. Many senior BJP leaders and many Lok Sabha members from Delhi were also present here.

The Aam Aadmi Party government, which has been in power in Delhi for the last 10 years, had promised to clean the Yamuna river. However, even after two terms, the Yamuna could not be cleaned in Delhi. The issue of pollution of the Yamuna river was also raised in the Delhi Assembly elections. Now the Bharatiya Janata Party government has kept the Yamuna river on its priority. Even during the elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party had talked about making the Yamuna river clean in Delhi.
