New rule of UP government

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) will now be registered only in the name of women. This decision will provide financial security and ownership rights to millions of women in the state.

Women will get priority

  • Now women will be given priority among the beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana in UP.
  • Instead of joint ownership by husband and wife, houses will be allotted in the name of women only.
  • The aim of the government is to make women self-reliant and improve their socio-economic status.

What is the situation in other states?
