School Holiday 2025: There is good news for schools in Punjab and Haryana. The governments of both the states have announced a holiday in government and non-government schools on Wednesday, February 12, on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. Similarly, schools in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi will also remain closed on account of Ravidas Jayanti.
Holiday declared again in these states
In Pathankot, the deputy commissioner has ordered a half-day holiday on February 10, which will come into effect from noon onwards. However, there will be no holiday in schools and colleges where board or university examinations are scheduled.
In Uttar Pradesh too, all schools will remain closed on February 12, especially for classes 1 to 8. Apart from this, there will be a holiday on February 26 as well. In Varanasi, a holiday has been declared for all schools up to class 8 till February 14, and classes will be conducted online. In Ayodhya, in view of the large number of devotees during Magh Purnima, all schools will remain closed from February 11 to 14. This order will apply to government and private schools in urban areas, but the board exam dates will remain the same as before.
In Delhi, the Lieutenant Governor has declared a holiday in government offices and public sector undertakings on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti on February 12. In Mirzapur, schools will remain closed for students from nursery to class VIII from February 11 to 13, but teachers will perform their duties in the school.
Schools will remain closed for so many days this month
Apart from this, schools may also remain closed on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on February 19 and Mahashivratri on February 26. Schools will be closed on February 16 and 23 as they are Sundays. In Jammu and Kashmir, schools up to class 5 are closed from December 10, 2024 and will remain closed till February 28, while schools from class 6 to 12 will reopen from March.
