Northern Railway General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma said, ‘Initially, Kashmir’s first Vande Bharat train will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. The service of this semi-high-speed train is planned to be extended to Jammu Tawi later this year.’
Indian Railways has given another good news for the passengers. The Vande Bharat Express train running from Jammu Tawi to Srinagar can start in October. This new semi-high-speed train will provide great convenience to the people of Kashmir Valley as well as the Union Territory. The national transporter has decided to run the Jammu to Srinagar Vande Bharat train which will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. However, by the end of this year the train will be extended to Jammu Tawi.
Northern Railway General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma gave information about this in a conversation with Economic Times. He said, ‘Initially, Kashmir’s first Vande Bharat train will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. The service of this semi-high-speed train is set to be extended to Jammu Tawi later this year. The railway official was asked about the possible date of starting the Vande Bharat train service between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar. On this, he said, ‘The first phase of modernization work is going on regarding the Vande Bharat train between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar. It is expected to start after its completion.’
Distance between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar is 268 km
According to the report, Ashok Verma said that the first phase of Jammu Tawi station redevelopment will be completed by August or September. After this, this train can start running in October. It is known that Vande Bharat train will cover a distance of 268 km between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar, which will take four hours. It will also be the fastest train running on this route. The responsibility of operating and maintaining the train will be given to the Northern Railway Zone. When it starts, railway passengers can experience world-class travel. People have such expectations and there is a demand to start it soon.
