In the hilly states of the country, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, there is a possibility of both rain in the plains and snowfall in the hilly areas. Rain, snowfall and lightning may occur in more than 20 districts of Himachal Pradesh.
There is an alert of dense fog in 12 states including MP-UP. Light rain may occur in Gwalior-Chambal today. There is a possibility of rain in Uttar Pradesh today and tomorrow on January 26. Dense fog may occur in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan tomorrow. There will be a cold day alert in Himachal Pradesh. Alert for rain in Delhi for 2 days
According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance has become active in the country, due to which there is an alert of rain in Delhi-NCR today and tomorrow. Today, dense clouds also covered Delhi-NCR in the morning. The sun rose at 7:13 am and after a while the sun also shone. The Sun will set at 5:51 pm. Yesterday, Tuesday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was 24 degrees and the minimum temperature was 10.6 degrees. Today, on Wednesday, January 22, the maximum temperature in the morning was 19.76 °C.
The minimum and maximum temperatures during the day are expected to be 10.05 °C and 24.97 °C. There is 40% humidity in the air and the wind speed is 40 kilometers per hour. Due to rain during the day today, people may have to face freezing cold. The Meteorological Department has advised people to protect themselves from the cold. The minimum temperature in Delhi-NCR has dropped by 1 degree Celsius during the last 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi nowadays remain between 22 to 25°C and 10 to 11°C.

Rain forecast in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance is active in the form of a cyclonic circulation along with a trough line over northern Pakistan and its surroundings. A cyclonic circulation is located over western Rajasthan at the lower troposphere level. A fresh western disturbance is also active in the form of a trough, with westerly winds blowing.
Due to the effect of these weather conditions, there is a possibility of scattered rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan region today and tomorrow on January 23. There is a possibility of scattered rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and western Uttar Pradesh today on January 22 and tomorrow on January 23. Today, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and showers at isolated places in Rajasthan, western Uttar Pradesh, western Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh.

Warning of dense fog and cold day
According to the Meteorological Department, fog may occur in the morning and evening in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till January 24. Fog will prevail in Himachal Pradesh and eastern Uttar Pradesh during January 24-26. Fog is likely to occur in many areas of western Uttar Pradesh from today to January 26.
Cold day conditions are likely to develop in some parts of Himachal Pradesh on January 23. The Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go to the Comorin region and areas adjacent to the Gulf of Mannar till January 24. Stay away from the Sri Lanka coast adjoining the south and the South West Bay of Bengal, West Central and adjacent South West Arabian Sea as well as the Somalia coast.
