IMD Weather Updates: Due to the effect of the latest western disturbance, rain is expected in northwest and adjoining central India on January 15 and 16.
Most of the states in North India are facing severe cold. But it seems that the cold will continue in the coming days as well. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in northwest and adjacent central India on January 15 and 16 due to the effect of the latest western disturbance. Along with this, dense fog is likely to persist in North India for the next few days.
No relief from cold winds and dense fog
In the last 24 hours, severe cold was recorded in some parts of West Madhya Pradesh and cold day conditions were recorded at different places in East Rajasthan. Dense fog prevailed in East Uttar Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh, due to which visibility was less than 50 meters.
Forecast for the coming days
There is a possibility of snowfall and rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on January 15-16. Rain is also expected in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Dense fog will continue in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and northeastern states till January 16. At the same time, the minimum temperature in northwest India is likely to increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next three days.
How long will the cold stop?
There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the Himalayan region till January 20 due to another western disturbance in North India after January 18. Therefore, cold and dense fog conditions may persist till the end of this month. At present, people suffering from the weather are forced to endure the cold with the help of warm clothes and heaters-bonfires.
