Announcement of holiday in Karnataka and Telangana

Former Prime Minister passes away and is undergoing treatment at AIIMS

Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS Delhi, where he was already undergoing treatment. He was admitted to the hospital for age-related medical problems. He lost consciousness on the night of 26 December, after which he was brought to the hospital at 8:06 pm. Despite all medical efforts at the hospital, Dr. Manmohan Singh could not be saved and was declared dead at 9:51 pm.

AIIMS also said in its press release that Dr. Manmohan Singh suffered from several complications during treatment, but the doctors tried their best to save his life. After his demise, a wave of deep grief swept across the country, as Dr. Manmohan Singh was one of the most revered and respected leaders of Indian politics.

7 days of national mourning

The Government of India has declared 7 days of national mourning on the demise of Dr. Manmohan Singh, which will last till 2 January 2025.
