The weather changed in Punjab on Monday. The Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert of dense fog for three days from Monday. The sun did not shine on Monday morning and it was cloudy.Â
It has rained in many districts of Punjab including Jalandhar and Faridkot. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain has been predicted at many places for the next few days and dense fog has also been predicted.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees during this period. The weather will remain dry on Tuesday and Wednesday. The weather will remain bad on December 27. There will be rain along with wind in many places in Punjab. This will increase the cold considerably.
Light rain was witnessed in Delhi NCR on Monday, December 23, 2024. The sky remained cloudy throughout the day. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding rain and severe cold in the capital in the coming days. Dense fog is likely to occur in most areas today. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert of fog on December 24-25, 2024.
Alert in Himachal Pradesh
Cold wave continues in Himachal Pradesh. Severe cold is being witnessed in the lower hilly areas of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for 4 days in view of severe cold in Hamirpur, Mandi, Una and Bilaspur districts. Apart from this, light rain and snowfall has also been predicted in the higher altitude areas for 2-3 days.
Rainfall in these states
A low pressure area has formed over the west-central part of the Bay of Bengal. It is likely to reach the southwest Bay of Bengal near the coast of north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh by 24 December 2024. This may cause rains in north Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Odisha.
