US H 1B visa: According to the Instagram post of the Indian Embassy in the US, the US Embassy in India will implement new rules for scheduling and rescheduling of non-immigrant visa appointments from January 1, 2025.
There is good news for Indians planning to go to America. America has announced new rules to streamline H-1B visa appointments. According to the report, this can provide great relief to Indian tech professionals in visa processing.
According to an Instagram post by the Indian Embassy in the US, the US Embassy in India will implement new rules for scheduling and rescheduling non-immigrant visa appointments from January 1, 2025. The new rules are aimed at streamlining the visa process and reducing waiting times.
Helps to fill vacancies faster
This announcement from the US government comes soon after the implementation of new rules for the H-1B visa process by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This will help applicants to quickly fill job vacancies in critical sectors.
Under the new visa rules, applicants can reschedule their appointment once without paying an additional fee. However, if they miss their reschedule appointment or need to reschedule more than once, they will have to take a new appointment and pay the fee again.
Making an appointment is easy and fast
In its post, the embassy said, “These changes will make it easier and faster for everyone to get an appointment.” They have requested all applicants to attend their pre-scheduled appointments to ensure that the process remains smooth and efficient.
Another step taken to speed up the visa process and prevent abuse is the revised H-1B visa rule under the Biden administration, which will come into effect on January 17, 2025. Applicants for H-1B visas will now have to prove that their degree is directly related to their job, to ensure that there is no abuse of the scheme.
The new rules have also authorised immigration officers to process extension requests on a prior approval basis to streamline the process.
