Bank Holiday: Public holidays for the year 2025 have been announced. Let us know how many holidays we will get in the new year and on which days they will fall.

Knowing bank holidays in India is very important for planning your financial transactions and bank related activities. There are different types of banks operating in India such as Reserve Bank of India (RBI) , Commercial Banks, Cooperative Banks, Regional Rural Banks (RRB), and Small Finance Banks (SFB).

Bank holidays can be broadly divided into two categories:

National Holidays (Gazetted Holidays): These are valid uniformly throughout the country.
Government holidays: These include holidays declared by the state and central government. State government holidays depend on the specific state while central government holidays are applicable throughout the country.

Apart from this, Indian banks are also closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.
