Government, semi-government and private schools will remain closed for three days from today. The administration has taken this decision in view of the possibility of large number of youth arriving during TA recruitment.
During school closure, teachers will teach children through online medium. A huge crowd of youth has gathered in Pithoragarh.
DM Vinod Goswami said that as per the schedule of Territorial Army recruitment, youths from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are to be recruited in the coming days. He said that a large number of youths are expected to arrive during this period.
When there is more crowd, there will be more traffic on the roads, due to which children may face difficulty in commuting. In view of this, it has been decided to close all the schools located in the city area from 20th to 22nd November.
The night was spent in the cold, during the day youths were found basking in the sun on the road. After getting the necessary facilities at night, hundreds of recruited youths were troubled a lot by the cold. On Monday, many youths were seen basking in the sun. Some were seen lying on the road after arranging bedding, while some were seen enjoying the mild sun in the grass fields.
DM inspected and checked the arrangements
Pithoragarh. DM Vinod Goswami conducted a field inspection at Jajardeval on Tuesday and took stock of the arrangements made for the youth like drinking water, parking, electricity, security, food, traffic etc. During this, he also talked to Army Colonel Uttam Singh. SP Rekha Yadav, CDO Dr. Deepak Saini, ADM Dr. Shivkumar Barnwal, SDM Yashveer Singh etc. were present here.
