One such important document is Domicile Certificate i.e. Domicile Certificate which is also called Permanent Residence Certificate. If you have been living in a state for the last 15 years, then you will have a Domicile Certificate.

But if you do not have a domicile certificate, and you need it for some work, then you can get it made online (Online Process) or offline as per your convenience. The process of getting it made is also quite simple. Let us tell you that to make a domicile certificate, a person has to fulfill some criteria which are different in every state.

These documents are required for Domicile Certificate 

You will need some documents to get your Domicile Certificate made. If you are thinking of getting a Domicile Certificate made either offline or online, then first collect these documents mentioned below.

1. Aadhar card of the applicant- Today Aadhar card is required for almost every work. Be it government work or private work. Many of your works cannot be completed without Aadhar card. The first document you need to get a domicile certificate is the Aadhar card of the applicant.

2. Ration card- After Aadhar card, the second important document is Ration card. Domicile certificate of people who have ration card is made very easily.

3. Voter ID Card- Almost every Indian citizen has a voter ID card. You will need this to get a domicile certificate.

4. Birth Certificate- You must have the birth certificate, if not, then get it made because, Birth Certificate is required to get the Domicile Certificate.

5. Passport size photo- You will need 2 to 3 passport size photos to apply both online and offline. Note that if you come from a rural area and want to get your domicile certificate made, then you must have a Patwari’s report. Without this, your work may get stuck in the middle.

How to get a domicile certificate?

If you do not have a Domicile Certificate i.e. Domicile Certificate or Permanent Residence Certificate, then you can get it made online. To get it made online, you have to follow the steps given below. Actually, you need this certificate for government or private job also.

Step 1: If you want to apply for Domicile Certificate, then first of all you have to go to the official website of your state. For example – if you are a resident of Delhi, then you have to go to Edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in. If you are facing any problem in finding the website of your state, then write Domicile Certificate on Google and then search the name of your state, you will easily find the website.

Step 2: After visiting the website of your state, now the new user has to register. While registering, you will be asked for some information, which will include information like your name, phone number etc.

Step 3: After creating the account, the user will have to search for Domicile Certificate, after clicking on which a form will open.

Step 4: Fill in the information asked in this form correctly, which will include information like name, address, Aadhaar number. After this you will have to upload the documents. Finally click on the submit option. Let us tell you that for this you will have to deposit a fee of Rs 50 to 100.

Step 5: The process will be completed after verifying the fees and all the information you have filled in the form. After 10 days, you can download the Domicile Certificate online.

Eligibility for Domicile Certificate

The applicant must have lived in the state or union territory for at least three years or his parents must be local residents of the state.
