Banks will remain closed in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal on October 31 on the occasion of Diwali.

Friday, November 1, 2024

Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Sikkim, and Manipur on the occasion of Deepavali, Kut Festival and Karnataka Rajyotsava.

Saturday, November 2, 2024

Banks will be closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh on this day due to Diwali (Bali Pratipada), Balipadyami, Lakshmi Puja (Deepawali), Govardhan Puja, and Vikram Samvat New Year.

Banks will remain closed on November 3 due to Bhai Dooj. Apart from this, all banks will remain closed on this day as it is Sunday.

4 days long holiday in Karnataka and Maharashtra

Banks in Karnataka and Maharashtra will have four consecutive holidays on Thursday, October 31, November 1, November 2 and November 3 (Sunday).

3 days long holiday in Uttarakhand and Sikkim

Banks will remain closed for three days in Uttarakhand and Sikkim on November 1, November 2 and November 3 (Sunday).

Kut Festival on 1 November

There are several major festivals celebrated under the Kut Festival, including Chawang Kut, Thlaphwang Kut, and Pawal Kut.

Chawang Kut : It is a post-harvest festival celebrated by the Kuki-Chin-Mizo tribes of Manipur to express gratitude to God for good harvest.

Thlaphwang Kut : A harvest festival celebrated in November in the Aizawl district of Mizoram.

Pawla Kut: This festival has a special ritual called ‘Chavungnavut’.

Karnataka Rajyotsava – 1 November

Karnataka Rajyotsava, also known as Kannada Rajyotsava, is celebrated every year on November 1. This is the day of formation of the state of Karnataka and is also celebrated as Karnataka State Day.
