UIDAI extends free Aadhaar Card update deadline and here is why you should not miss it

Aadhaar Card Update: You will have many types of documents which you will need on many different occasions, like, we should have a driving license while driving, similarly you need a ration card while taking ration from a government shop.

Similarly, Aadhaar card is needed for government as well as non-government work. Be it opening an account in a bank or getting a SIM card etc. Aadhaar is required for many such works, but do you know that you also have to update a 10-year-old Aadhaar card? This is how you can update your Aadhaar card:-

Step 1

  • If your Aadhaar card is 10 years old, then you need to get it updated.
  • For this, first you have to visit the official website of UIDAI uidai.gov.in/en
  • Here you will see many options, out of which you have to click on the option ‘Update Aadhaar’

Step 2

  • After this, you have to enter your Aadhaar number here which is 12 digits long.
  • Then an OTP will come on your registered mobile number which you have to enter here and login
  • Then you have to click on the option to update the document

Step 3

  • Now if you look down, you have to upload the scanned copy of your identity card and address proof by going to the drop-down list.
  • Then you have to click on the submit button after which your form will be submitted

Step 4

  • Now when the form is submitted you get a service request number
  • You have to keep this number safe so that you can check your status and know whether your Aadhaar card has been updated or not
  • Keep in mind that you can get this work done for free till 14 December 2024.
