Rain continues in Bengaluru

Waterlogging and traffic jams occurred in many areas. Disaster relief force personnel have been deployed in Bengaluru, where many areas were submerged on Tuesday due to continuous rain. South-Western Railway canceled several trains due to waterlogging on the tracks between Basin Bridge Junction and Vyasarpadi railway stations. The Meteorological Department has said that the city is likely to remain cloudy for the next three to four days. Heavy rains are expected in Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere and Tumkuru districts today i.e. on Thursday. Apart from this, heavy rains may also occur in Andaman and Nicobar.
Meteorological Department issued Orange Alert
The spell of rain continues in Kerala as well. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for two districts of Kerala – North Malappuram and Kannur. The department has predicted torrential rains in many areas. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in ten districts of the state – Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kasargod. Earlier on Wednesday, many parts of Kerala received rain accompanied by strong winds and thunder.

According to the department, the pressure area is likely to move west-northwest and cross the coast of North Tamil Nadu-South Andhra Pradesh between Puducherry and Nellore near Chennai on the morning of October 17.
