IndiGo Mx: The country’s largest aviation company IndiGo will soon offer a gender-neutral ‘Mx’ option to passengers at the time of ticket booking as part of its major efforts to promote inclusivity.
That is, it will not ask whether the person booking the ticket is a man or a woman. Apart from this, the country’s largest airline aims to double the number of disabled people employed by it. IndiGo has a 62 percent share in the domestic market.
IndiGo brings MX option
Sukhjeet S Pasricha, Group Chief Human Resources Officer, IndiGo, said that the airline will introduce the ‘MX’ option for its passengers at the time of booking and this will provide an option to transgenders who do not want to reveal their identity. Currently, ‘Male’ and ‘Female’ options are available on the airline’s website during the booking process.

These airlines also give options
Air India Express and Vistara already offer ‘MX’ option for passengers at the time of booking tickets.
Pasricha said that IndiGo has implemented several initiatives for the ‘LGBTQ+’ community, including special programs to encourage the recruitment of people belonging to the community. According to him, LGBTQ+ persons are being recruited continuously and they are working in various jobs including flying in the airline.
