Heavy Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR and North as well as Northeast India in the coming days.

The Meteorological Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for heavy rains in parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on July 11. Apart from this, according to the Regional Meteorological Center, Delhi-NCR will remain generally cloudy on Thursday and light rain is expected. The maximum temperature on Thursday is also predicted to be 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is 26 degrees Celsius.

Many villages in Lakhimpur Kheri have been affected by the overflowing of the Sharda river due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday that 12 districts of the state are currently affected by floods. Rescue and relief operations are going on in full swing in all the affected districts. On the instructions of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, Noida Police is patrolling the flood-affected areas. According to DCP Noida Manish Kumar Mishra, the warning has been issued due to heavy rains and rising water level in the Yamuna river during the monsoon season.

The IMD has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for heavy rains in Bihar. At the same time, a ‘Red Alert’ has been issued for very heavy rains on Friday. Bihar is expected to receive 115.5-204.4 mm of rain on Thursday. At the same time, an ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued for heavy rainfall forecast on Thursday in areas like Kheri, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria and Sant Kabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for Konkan and Goa. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted at isolated places.

According to IMD scientist Surendra Paul, rainfall activity is expected to increase from July 20. Heavy rainfall is forecast on July 11-12. A ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued in some parts of the Himalayan state. Floods are likely in some states during this period.

Rain forecast across the country

Heavy rains are expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh till July 14. Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh may receive heavy rainfall till July 12. According to the IMD, heavy rains are expected in Himachal Pradesh from July 11 to 13, Jammu on July 12 and 13 and in northern Haryana and northern Punjab on July 12. Apart from this, heavy rains are likely in eastern Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on July 11.

Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya till July 14. Jharkhand is likely to receive heavy rains on July 11 and 12. Odisha will also receive heavy rains from July 12 to 14.

IMD has said that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in Karnataka till July 14. Heavy rains are expected in Gujarat till July 14. Saurashtra and Kutch are likely to receive heavy rains on July 11.
