Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) is now offering a faster and seamless check-in experience with its new self-service baggage drop system. This innovation makes Delhi one of the best in terms of airport efficiency in India.

This makes Delhi Airport the second airport in the world to offer this service after Toronto. Let us know how the check-in service with self-service baggage drop works.

How the feature works

Passengers can bypass the traditional check-in desks and go straight to the Self-Service Bag Drop (SSBD) units located in Terminals 1 and 3. Currently, this service is available for Air India, IndiGo and Air India Express passengers.

At the SSBD unit you will scan your boarding pass or use a facial recognition camera for identification. Then, simply drop your luggage onto the conveyor belt.

For a faster process, choose the ‘Quick Drop Solution’. This is a one-step option, which eliminates the need to scan your boarding pass again. All the information is already attached to your baggage tag. With Quick Drop, check-in is done in just 30 seconds!

Benefits for passengers

The self-service system significantly reduces check-in time, allowing you to reach the airport with ease.

With this you get better convenience and control. You will not have to stand in long lines. Also, you will be able to manage the check-in process as per your wish.

This innovative technology makes your journey through Delhi Airport easier and less stressful.

Collect and attach your baggage tags at conveniently located Common Use Self-Service (CUSS) kiosks when you arrive at the airport.

Helping to improve the travel experience

Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, DIAL said, “We are proud to introduce this cutting-edge technology at Delhi Airport. The self-service bag drop system exemplifies our commitment to leverage advanced technology to enhance the travel experience for our passengers.”

So, the next time you fly from Delhi, take advantage of the new self-service baggage drop and enjoy a faster, more convenient check-in process.
